  What was it like being a JW in the 1960's and 1970's

  i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.

  was the society as strict as it is today?.

  Very serious, deep stuff! BTW, the older brothers and sisters I knew were not kooky but had a deep knowledge of the Bible...
  

  Same here but I think that they were more zealous in the 1950s than when I grew up in the 1970s. I remember having get togethers and conversing with brothers on doctrines. One of whom had an IQ of 170 and had a lot of non-JW literature that would have branded him a borderline apostate.

  Can't make a comparison because I was physically and mentally out since 1980.
  

  Did you feel proud to be a JW back then?

  Yes, but I started having doubts in the late 1970s.
  

  Were the brothers more loving in those days?

  Would not know about now but they were pretty decent back then A few of them helped me out when I needed it. It was the elder hatchet man and the Circuit Overseer who were the pricks.

  As I've said before, it is the right wing media and Republican/conservative/alt-right groups that initiated all this hate-monger. I shouldn't have to define the word "initiated" so I'll use a simpler one. They started it. As I've said before, 30 years of conservative hatemongery on right wing radio and 20 years on right wing television has created this situation.

  As I've also said before conservatives are like the bully that punches and punches his victim and then, when his victim punches back the bully shouts: "You see, you see! That is why he deserves to be punched!

  VI are you implying that Fox News and the talking heads on Fox called for these actions? Do they have a written agenda, and call to shoot liberals?
  

  They don't have to make a call for anything or even have a written agenda. Their hatemongering inspires people to do these things without having to give specific commands.

  The Unitarian church shooter. Jim David Adkisson went to a Unitarian church (Known to be Liberal) with a shotgun and killed two church members before he was subdued by church members. When policemen captured him he told them that he hated liberals and since he could not reach the politicians he decided to shoot some that were within easier reach. When the police officers went to his home they discovered books authored by conservatives like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

  
  

  The Las Vega cop killers. A married couple, Jerad and Amanda Miller, went to a pizza restaurant and killed two policemen. They then draped a Gadsden flag over their bodies and pinned a note on one of the policemen which read "This is the beginning of the revolution." They were extreme right wingers who had previously visited the Bundy ranch where law enforcement agents were surrounded by people aiming rifles at them.

  
  

  The Sikh temple shooter. Wade Page went to their worship services and began shooting the worshippers killing six. Page was also a radical conservative.
  

  

  Byron Williams. According to his mother, Williams "watched the news on television and was upset by 'the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items.'"

  He was, heavily armed and en route to an Acorn office with intent to kill. Fortunately the police pulled him over and captured him after he engaged them with a volley of gunfire. No one was killed.
